Altman’s most bizarre—and best, as far as I’m concerned—film came to him in a
dream, and the resulting nightmare in which blank slate Sissy Spacek becomes kooky
Shelley Duvall is funny, haunting, and endlessly intriguing. A lot of movies
get called “Lynchian” just because they’re weird, but this one really fits the
bill.
